Not a lot to say lately...

I have been reading all of your blogs and really enjoying them. I haven't had any super huge desire to blog myself. I like to read about you guys and hear that you have fun things going on and that you don't sound as crabby as I feel. I am not super stressed. Christmas is coming along nicely, my fridge is fixed (finally), my kids are healthy, I love my husband, I love my neighbors and the rest of my family... but for some reason I am super crabby. So - thank you for posting about fun things so I can read about all of you. Thank you for the example that you are to me as wives and mom's. Thank you for the example that you are as people. I love you all.

Merry Christmas!

PS - I hate when my house is messy. Probably why I am crabby... oh well!

Good Stuff...

Tonight we began our goal of reading in the scriptures every day for the 10,523rd time in our marriage. Okay so I might be exagerating just a little bit we haven't done it quite this many times. It is such a great feeling to have your husband gather the family in the living room with their scriptures and lead you in the right direction. It is always a great sound to have your kids sound out some of the hard words in the Book of Mormon. Even Ashley read. Of course I had to tell her the words in her ear.

I am thankful for a great husband who leads us, and great kids who want to follow us.

Denver...

It seems to me that the snow in Denver, CO is much, much colder than it is here. Maybe it is just because I was there and not here. We went to Denver for my Colorado Christmas Party. We ate at a restaurant called "The Capitol Grille". We had the most amazing mashed potatoes in the universe. I really liked the steak too but the mashed potatoes were great. I really like to eat.

I love that it has snowed for the holiday season. I love snow in December. Come January... no more snow. I do like it though in December.

While we were gone we had our really great neighbors doing nice things for us. Dean Morrell helped (I mean did it himself) my kids shovel the walks... when Darrell Pehrson saw that he was doing it by hand he came over and did the rest with a snow blower. Mogie DeMann made sure that Shawn came with him for the food drive and shoveling peoples walks and then took him to lunch at Arby's. Karen DeMann let Cameron come to play half of the day. I am sure that other things happened too that were great I just didn't hear about them. I really love our neighbors. We could not even hand pick any that were better. We are very blessed to have the neighborhood that we do. Everyone is so willing to help each other. I am glad that we live here.

We had a lesson on Joseph Smith today at church. It made me think about the movie downtown. If you haven't seen it yet... stop what you planned for Family Home Evening tomorrow and take your kids to see it. It is so good. I love Joseph Smith. He and Emma are two of my favorite role models. What a great lesson that Cindy Pehrson gave. I could listen and learn from her spirit all day long.

What a crappy day... sort of!

My fridge decided to break... aarrrggghhhhhh!

What a perfect time in my life to either get it fixed (hopefully) or buy a new one (hopefully not). As of right now they can't find the part that is broken. What a dang pain in my... pocket book. I really didn't want to buy a fridge for Christmas. We have been wanting one for our garage... we just wanted to buy it on our time... not right now. Tonight for fun we will be going out to get a garage fridge... fun!

To make my life just that much better Miss Ashley has been sick for two days with diarrhea. Poor girl. In Ashley fashion she is super happy still... just more cuddly. What fun!

My favorite weekend - part 3

This is the last of them today... I promise.

Harley was able to play in the snow for the first time this weekend. He wasn't so sure about it. I guess that I wouldn't be either if I were him... It was over his head.
He is such a cute little dog. He has a great personality.

My favorite weekend - part 2

Okay second part to the weekend.

Every year on the first weekend of December we have the same three dinners.

First my work party. This year we had 186 people at it. It was a lot of work to get it ready. I booked the Grand America clear back in February. I have been working on the party off and on since then. This past month has been crazy getting the final touches done. We had a group called The Cadillacs come they were super fun. We gave our employees IPod Nano's... I hope that they all liked them. I know that I did.

Second our dinner with our friends that we travel with. We went to Ruth's Chris Steak House... there steak just might be my very favorite steak in the universe. It was such a relaxing dinner that I didn't have to plan or do anything for except to just get ready and show up. I always look forward to this dinner. It is just so fun to get together with friends for a great evening of talking and eating great food. Sorry I forgot to bring my camera for some pictures... next year.

Third our very very very favorite meal of the whole entire year is our annual fondue night that Steve's Mom started. She has invited our family since Steve and I got married. We now have it at our house because she is getting tired. Last night we had the biggest group that we have ever had. There were 16 if us.

My Mom & Dad, Steve's Dad, Steve's Mom & Step Dad, Jarred & Rachelle, Josh & Tori, Jelissa, and Steve & Me & the kids.

Okay you are now going to have picture overload.
Jarred and Rachelle STILL eating.
As you can see Steve's Dad's didn't want to leave the table either.
As you can see after dinner Josh didn't move a whole lot. We were seriously stuffed.
After dinner we always have a white elephant gift exchange. Here were some of the highlights... My pretty Christmas plaid dress with a mitten head band.
Shawn's HUGE bra and underwear set.
Cameron's picture of Jarred sportin a stylish mullet with steps on the sides.

A side from the fact that I gained about 900 pounds it was a great weekend. It is always our very very favorite of the WHOLE year.

My favorite weekend - part 1

I will do this post i n 2 parts because it is so long.

Last weekend both of our girls danced at the festival of trees. The pictures aren't super great - we were not that close... even on the front row.

Alyssa is in a group called Guyz n' Dollz just north of the Fashion Place Mall. She just loves it. It is a singing group (think Madrigals). She gets to sing and do a little bit of dance. Singing is her thing. She has a great voice. She is just becoming such a sweet little pre-teen. I love her age right now.

Ashley is in a group called Studio 56 just on 5600 South and 700 East. She is made to be a dancer... hopefully not a striper (LOL). She loves to dance more than anything. She doesn't like ballet very much. She says that when she is on her toes it hurts her legs. She also doesn't like to stretch. "It hurts" she says. She was up on stage before her group started dancing telling the girls where to stand because they were in the wrong place. Ashley bossy... weird. She was so stinking cute up there.
