My new favorite quote!

"Often small acts of service are all that is required to lift and bless another: a question concerning a person’s family, quick words of encouragement, a sincere compliment, a small note of thanks, a brief telephone call. If we are observant and aware, and if we act on the promptings which come to us, we can accomplish much good."

Happenings...

So we have had a busy couple of months. I can't believe that I haven't blogged for two months.

I can't even remember what we did in March... it was obviously so exciting.

In April Alyssa and I went to New York. My Mother in Law takes the kids when they turn 12 on a trip of their choice. They love this trip. Alyssa picked New York. We were so excited to go on it. It was fun to spend time with with her alone... no other kids. I love to talk about what ever she is thinking about, and have one on one time. I will post pictures soon.

On April 17th, Alyssa turned 12 and came in to my beehive class for young women's. I have been waiting forever for this moment and now it has finally come. She has been so excited too! It is fun on Wednesday Nights to have her, Shawn, Steve and me all go. She is a great kid. She always tries to make the right decisions. For Alyssa's Birthday she invited her 3 best friends to go see the play that Shawn was in (FOOTLOOSE), Dinner and I surprised them and took them to get their makeup done at the mall at the Bare Essentials Store. Then they had a sleepover. It was a great group of girls. They are so much fun. We had decided on a smaller group than normal so we could spend a little more money and time. It worked out great. I love all of the girls that she hangs out with. They are a awesome group.

On April 26th, Shawn turned 14 and now he is a teacher. It is weird to have him be so old. He is a great kid. I love his personality. He is such a great example to his other siblings. For Shawn's Party we had 5 of his best friends over. Shawn wanted Homemade Mexican Food for dinner (a boy after my own heart). Then we took our kids and them and went to Boondocks and then had them all over for a sleepover. We went to Boondocks on a perfect night. It was a little cold but nobody was there so we were able to do any activity we wanted. It was great.

Well that is about it... I will post pictures soon of all our happenings...
